Rachel and Nicks Fabulous Lake Ōkāreka Wedding Day
Sometimes you meet a couple that just melts your heart, and Rachel and Nick were exactly that for me. From the moment Rachel and I first chatted on the phone, I loved how laid-back and real she was about the whole wedding process. She wanted the day to focus on what truly mattered—marrying Nick, surrounded by family, with their little guy, George. It was the kind of day I love: easygoing, full of joy, and all about the moments.
Of course, wedding days rarely go exactly as planned. The ceremony moved from outside to inside (and back again!) before the soft rain finally made the decision for us. No stress though—Rachel was perfectly happy to roll with it. The team at Longfords Estate had everything sorted, and we headed down to the Marquee for a beautiful, relaxed ceremony, officiated by the lovely Helene (great job, Helene!).
One of my favorite moments? Walking through the fields with the wedding party, surrounded by the stunning views of Lake Ōkāreka, while a light rain fell. No mind to the weather—it only added to the magic. When the rain picked up, we headed to the estate’s gorgeous tree-lined driveway. It’s funny how much shelter those trees offer—I think I was the only one getting wet!
This wedding was everything I love: natural, fun, and filled with love. Longfords Estate, with its picturesque countryside setting and close proximity to Rotorua, made the perfect backdrop for a truly unforgettable day.
