Papamoa Beach Wedding

Wow again where do I begin. Niki and Steve are a local couple to my area here in Papamoa, Tauranga. When I first met with them to discuss their wedding I knew immediately we were going to get along. On their wedding day they wanted to incorporate all the local places of significance to them. Which is why they chose to have their wedding ceremony at Hart Street in Mount Maunganui. They have many lovely memories on this beach so it was an obvious choice for a relaxed beach wedding. On the day we woke up to rain and we were all feeling a tad anxious the ceremony wouldn’t happen as planned. I think it was still lightly showering till just after lunch and wouldn’t you know it the sun came out and it was just PERFECT! I already knew if it was going to rain Niki was one of those happy brides and willing to just run with it which was one of the reasons I was so excited to work with them, but I don’t think any of us could have imagined a day more perfect. After a lovely wedding ceremony officiated by Celebrant Pam Chapman, Niki, Steve and their sons made time to greet every single one of their wedding guests which was a lovely touch. Before long, we realized it was time we’d better move, so we ran down to the beach …. OH, and THE LIGHT – one happy photographer! We then zoomed to a wee secret spot just around the corner from Niki and Steve’s home where the we were gifted the most ridiculous golden light to play in before we realized we’d better not keep their guests who were waiting at the Bluebiyou Wedding Venue in Papamoa for their reception. BUT when we arrived there was no way I was letting them go as I could see we were about to be treated to one of our lovely Papamoa evening beach sunsets. So after a really quick wander along the beach with photo bombing locals we joined their happy wedding guests for their reception. I honestly ADORE Autumn weddings and I adore this couple and I think the only thing I’m sad to say is I don’t have this wedding to look forward to any more 😉 Rochelle
