I knew Danielle and Saadiq’s wedding was going to be a amazing! I’m always excited to have an Old Forest School wedding to photograph. It’s just up the road from where I grew up in Te Puke and it’s a local Bay of Plenty wedding photographers dream wedding venue.
Danielle and Saadiq did what many Old Forest School couples do and hired out holiday homes at the nearby Pukehina beach for family and wedding party guests to enjoy.
When we chatted it was obvious Dani and Saadiq had a special love story. Two souls with the biggest hearts who met at school. Priority for their wedding day was family, time with guests and what comes naturally to a great wedding – moments and laughter. None of that posing stuff. Just true heartfelt moments unfolding naturally.
Our Bay of Plenty day does what the Bay does best – provide plenty of everything! A fabulous example how a bit of rain (& an occasional downpour 😉 can just add to the fun and opportunities.
When it rains on your wedding day we pivot. Dani and Saadiq didn’t mind one bit having more time to hunker down with guests catching up, dining on fabulous eats, nibble on abundant cheese and drink good wine! There are plenty of beautiful areas at Old Forest School that we can retreat away from guests for photos and just like what happens on many rainy days we get windows where we can venture out. This is where having clients like Danielle and Saadiq who were happy to change the order of events and an adaptable MC is the recipe to a relaxed and joyous day. It also brings about some special conditions for a photographer who’s obsessed with beautiful lighting and golden opportunities. If you look through Danielle and Saadiqs images you’ll see how the day provided stunning lighting and luscious greens! A beautiful fog creeping over the forest in the distance! So many special fun moments on this day for this special couple.
