I was so excited to be capturing the wedding for Sav and Troy’s wedding as I absolutely love the Hawke’s Bay as it’s where I really began my wedding photography. I was doubly excited for this one as Troy and Sav informed me they’d chosen a very special venue for their wedding, that was out in the country, surrounded by hills covered in high grass and there was a true blue country style barn! I turned up the day before (as I do when it’s an out of town wedding) to scout the area and got the tour with Viv from Waiterenui Farm Wedding Venue. If you get the pleasure to meet this wonderful lady you are in for a treat. She’s honestly one of the nicest venue owners I’ve ever met who goes completely out of her way to help out. She explained how Waiterenui is a working farm and if couples want to have their wedding there they have to be willing to roll up their sleeves and set things up the way they want them. So this Hawke’s Bay wedding venue will appeal to the kind of lovely country folk that I know think Viv and her family are. So if the vibe to your wedding day is, country, rustic with a boho swing and you’re wanting to get married in the most unique Hawke’s Bay location in true country style seriously check these guys out!
Righto more about Sav and Troy. This wedding made me a feel a tad aged as when I lived in the Napier Sav was just a young wee thing. Now, as you can see she’s all grown up and just plain blinking beautiful. Troy and Sav wanted their guests to be able to have a relaxed and happy day out, picnic style and get the opportunity to have plenty of time for mingling and catching up with friends. They had amazing help from friends and family who all pitched in and just made it all happen. Couches, hay bales, beanbags, lawn games, rugs all laid out in front of the Barn. A grazing table that was just wow. Later food trucks arrived and everyone tucked in. We did the photos in little spells so it didn’t feel like we were away from guests for long. At one stage we zoomed off up the hills in the boys 4WD and Viv’s – (thanks Viv, never to be forgotten 😉 The views and the skies were put on for us in true Hawkes Bay style. Sav and Troys bridal party kept the party going in the hills as you can see by some of the photos (that’s their version of the dirty dancing lift if your wondering 😉 We returned to the Barn where everyone had eaten and kicked into speeches outside on the lawn finishing off with dance floor antics. One of the funnest happiest weddings I’ve ever been too – and this amazing Hawkes Bay Venue! Thanks for having me – Rochelle
